COSSACK CEMETERY
Allied Army was located on Lemnos where there was the Staff during the Great Patriotic War.
It contained 18 000 Kuban Cossack Army, 4000 Don cossacks and 700 people from Astrakhan.
The Army was located in 2 camps that was surrounded with french sentries. Dismantled soldiers sufferd from cold and hunger. They need water and fuel. Many of them slept in overcrouded tents on the ground. No wander that soon there the cemetery appeared.
In the big tent managed as a church a clergyman read the burial service. The church plate was hand-made. Church service was accompanied by the cossacks and officers chorus.
It is known that the church was always full of praying people.
The people suffered from the wrench on their Motherland and their soul pain flew out as a prayer. They hoped just on the God's mercy.
